As Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) you will plan, develop and implement the marketing and advertising strategies. Your duties include creating advertising campaigns, managing marketing budgets and using marketing initiatives to increase revenue.

Role & Responsibilities

As CMO you will develop the company’s marketing strategy and vision and oversee its marketing operations. Your primary duty is to use advertising to boost sales revenues. You will be expected to identify market trends and supervise the company’s market research efforts. It is expected that you will work with other departments, such as the product development, distribution and sales teams, to create marketing and customer service strategies that will help the organisation meet customer demands. The CMO will lead the marketing team, execute marketing campaigns and develop initiatives to enhance the efficiency of marketing and advertising plans. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing and overseeing strategic marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Establishing marketing goals and objectives and developing and managing the marketing budget
  • Measuring, reviewing and improving the performance and success of marketing campaigns
  • Collaborating with the product development, sales and customer service teams
  • Collecting data on market trends and customer buying habits to guide marketing efforts
  • Staying up to date and implementing the latest marketing innovations, technologies and techniques
  • Recruiting, training and mentoring the marketing team for improved efficiency
  • Plan and organising marketing functions to align campaigns with the company’s brand image and voice
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organisation-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning

Skills & Qualifications

  • CIM/degree qualified 
  • Passionate about the science and analytics of marketing
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • A strong team player, you will be comfortable working with people at all levels both strategic and operationally.
  • You will ideally have worked for a consumer goods focused business and also be proficient in various business software with the ability to learn new systems
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate good attention to detail showing logical decision making and prompt delivery to deadlines
  • Previous experience of working within a proactive D2C digital marketing role
  • Highly analytical skills and attention to detail with an ability to analyse and interpret data providing insight to aid future decision making and budgeting
  • Robust understanding and experience of all marketing communications channels
  • Time and project management skills to work and deliver on simultaneous projects
  • Curious about technology and innovation for marketing
